How our prices work

  • Desk prices are starting prices (the BPM refund service has a fixed fee), including VAT where applicable, and apply during office hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 16:30.
  • On Sundays we are open by appointment at a higher rate: call or WhatsApp first for the final price. A surcharge may apply outside office hours.
  • The additional rates are guide prices. A written price confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping always takes precedence.
  • You always know the price in advance. You can pay in cash or by bank transfer.

When the export price can be higher

The price can be higher outside office hours, with delivery by post, and for heavy or unusual vehicles. On Sunday we open by appointment at a higher rate; call or send a WhatsApp message first for the final price. The supplementary rates in the list are guide prices: a written confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping always applies. You pay in cash or by bank transfer.

Postal rates and remote export

Can't come to Hengelo? The export document by post costs €120 with a standard insured DHL shipment (about 5 working days) or €150 with DHL Express (about 1 working day), the same rate for the Netherlands and abroad. Insurance and plates by post add €150, so the complete package by post comes to about €270 to €300, depending on standard or express delivery. If the car is already in Belgium, the export runs through a separate postal procedure: contact us first, and we'll tell you what's needed and the price before you commit. Need more cover while you wait for the registration? See extending your export insurance.

Costs in Belgium (government, not ours)

These are paid in Belgium, to Belgian bodies, not to us:

  • Number plate: 30 euros per plate, paid on delivery by bpost.
  • E705 customs vignette: free, according to the Flemish government.
  • Pink application form: free.
  • Technical inspection: the rates vary by region; we don't quote them.
  • VAT: 21% for a private buyer, only on a 'new' means of transport (no more than 6,000 km, or delivered within six months of first entry into service). A private buyer of an older used car pays no Belgian VAT.

Registration tax and annual road tax per region

The one-off registration tax is regional, and we don't calculate it:

The annual road tax also varies by region. Factors include CO2 emissions, fuel, power, mass and age. The steps that lead up to these taxes are on our page about registering a car in Belgium, and the papers you need on Dutch car export documents.

Call or message us for free advice or an appointment, also outside office hours. On Sundays a higher rate applies; you always know the price in advance.

Questions about costs for a car going to Belgium

What does the Dutch export cost for a car going to Belgium?

The export document starts at €50, export insurance with white plates at €100 and the complete package at €150. We confirm the price for your vehicle in advance.

How much is a Belgian number plate for an imported car?

30 euros per plate, paid on delivery by bpost, according to the Flemish government. You have the second plate made yourself to the same specifications.

Can you tell me how much BIV or TMC I will pay?

No, we do not calculate Belgian taxes. Use the calculator of the Flemish Tax Administration for BIV, the Walloon TMC page, or MyTax for Brussels.

Do customers from Belgium pay by bank transfer or in cash?

Both are possible: cash at our desk in Hengelo, or by bank transfer. For an extension you pay by bank transfer after we confirm the approval and the price.

Is the E705 vignette really free of charge?

According to the Flemish government, yes. For a private buyer, VAT only applies to a 'new' means of transport, with no more than 6,000 km or delivered within six months of first entry into service.
